Lace & Pearls Sprinkled with Sugar!

Hi, Heres my last card of 2010! I soon as i saw The Sugar Bowls sketch for this weeks challenge i got straight to it! Loved this sketch and its one i will definitely use again. The optional extra is embossing so i have used my Cuttlebug and embossing folder to emboss the base layer. The paper i used is from a new pack that i bought in the Hobbycraft sale. Its the from the "Slice" range and i got the 12x12 pack for £1.99!! I have also used new lace, and pins/beads and the brad is new too. This all fits with My Time to Craft Challenge which is "Brand Spanking New!" The image is coloured with Promarkers and i have used the old faithful glossy accents on her tights. Not sure what i would do without that little bottle! Paper Sundaes challenge is "cut it out" so I have cut the image out and used 3d pads to make her stand out more. The other challenge that i playing along with is Charisma Cardz which is Pearls and Lace. I have also added my little butterfly on chain to to ribbon.

Here all the links to the challenges;

I hope everyone has a lovely new year and best wishes to you all for 2011!
Hope its a good year for everyone!

Thank You!

Hi, At long last i have had time to make a card!! Where does all the time go??

The sketch i followed is from Mojo Monday. My image is from TGF and i coloured her in with Pormarkers. The papers are My Minds Eye. I had got free papers like these with a magazine a while back and used them so bought more 12x12's this week in the sales!  The sentiment was cut from my Cricut Wild Card Cartridge and fits with the challenges running from Papertake Weekly and Cute Card Thursday. I am also playing along with the Corrosive Challenge which is to "Bling It On"! I have used plenty of bling on this card so i am sure that this will count! The flowers i made myself from Scalloped edge srips and a quilling tool! The leaves are cut from my Cricut. I have added glossy accents with glamour dust to the sentiment and leaves just to add a bit of sparkle.

Here is the links to the challenge blogs i am playing along with today;

Hope you all have a Great New Year when it arrives!

Red and White Christmas!

 Hi, We gad a massive amount of snow fall yesterday here. As most of you seen on the news the roads were gridlocked and it was total chaos! The schools were just back yesterday after being closed all last week due to the weather. By lunch time yesterday the roads were getting so bad we were worried about getting the kids home. We stay in a small village right in the middle of Edinburgh and Glasgow and my oldest travels to school by bus so I had to arrange for him to be picked up. My other two kids are at the village primary which also closed early yesterday. All schools now closed again today and waiting to hear about the rest of week. Its not fun anymore and its so deep its causing real problems. Our telephone lines were down yesterday, trees falling and i have seen a few hut and garage roofs collapsing!

Anyway enough about the snow! Here my card for the day. I am going to just list and link the challenges i am entering at the bottom of the post this time as i am in a bit of a hurry.  I have had this Forever Friends stamp for years and never used it.  He is coloured with Promarkers and kept it really simple to fit with the monochrome challenges and a few that are looking for red and white.  The sketch i used is from the Crazy 4 challenge blog. I have used one of my red and white flowers that i found in the bottom of my stash last week and the sentiment was one i had left in my xmas stash from last year too.

Heres the list/links of challenges i am entering with this card;

Thanks for looking and hope you have all had a good day in the snow!

A Few Of My Favourite Things!

Hi, Heres another late night, well early morning really, creation for you. This card has been made for the LOTV Challenge which is "A few of my Favourite things". Well this one was easy for me and just had to use my favourite stamp that comes out again and again for all different occasions. I also used my favourite colour scheme just now, one of my favourite sketches/layout and my favourite MS punch. As always i had to use my glossy accents which i really could never do without and the glamour dust that i sprinkle on it.
I am going to give this card to a close family friend for her birthday so i decorated the inside with a little pocket and tag. I felt this really finishes the card off..just that bit different too.
 I am also entering this card into the Tuesday Throwdown Challenge which is "Embellish it". I have used a few different embellishments. I love making the pins to match my colour scheme, i have been out buying lots of different beads to cover every colour scheme...just in case! I have also used gems, flowers and a charm to embellish my card.

I will also enter the Fab 'n' Funky challenge. Its their first birthday there so are looking for birthday cards and there is also a blog hop with lots of prizes to be won along the way!

Here is the links for the challenge blogs i am entering;

Thanks for taking the time to look and leaving lovely comments, They are really appreciated!

Buttons and Bows!!

Hi there, This is just a quick post to put this card on that i had started yesterday and never got finished till today. The sketch is from the Mojo Monday challenge blog. I love roundies so chose this over the square one. The DP's are all My Minds Eye "Lush" collection. They were all in a sale at Hobbycraft a few months back so i had to have them! The image of one of my fav gorgeous girls has been coloured by promarkers.  I have also played along with the challenge at Sweet Stampin this week is "Buttons and Bows". These buttons were recycled from my daughter old clothes, i went through all those bags of baby clothes that i just couldnt part with and cut of all the cute buttons then put them all in bin/recycle bin. If only i could clear out the rest of my house like that!
I have also entering the Lets Craft and Create challenge blog as its "Anything Goes"

Hope the snow and cold weather is not causing too much trouble for you all. I managed to go and finish my Christmas shopping today. Its was great because the shops were empty, only seen three other customers in Toys R us, and the shelves were full. I got everything i went for! The supermarkets were not quiet at all. My Sister couldnt get a pint of milk and then people were fighting over the bread! People are just panic buying just in case this goes on and on! Lets hope that not the case!!

I had forgot to leave links back to the challenge blogs that i have entered! I had a sleepless night and decided to post after 2am this morning so my brain was obviously to tired for it! lol! Sorry!

Black and white!

Hi There,
I hope you have all enjoyed the snow. We now have the deepest snow here since 1964, according to our council anyway! Its actually so deep my 6 year old cant really go out to play in it because its up to her bottom  in places so wellie boots are just not doing the job!! we are also snowed in and the schools are shut till Monday at least. There goes my Christmas shopping tomorrow and not sure about doing it online because roads and motorways have been closed on and off and we have not even post never mind large lorries with parcels! We are meant to have another 20cms tonight again, I am now getting a bit fed up with it.

So here is my card that i made the other day. The sketch is from the Just Magnolia Challenge. My Tilda was coloured with promarkers. As you can see i decided to try and do her all in "black and white." Had fun messing with all the grey shades, its not exactly how i wanted her to look but was running out of time. The colour scheme came from the Allsorts challenge which is Monochrome. The paper i used, the black one, has lots of lovely flocking on it. This card was hard to get a good photo off, the white just kept bouncing back at the camera. Its not a cheap camera i use, maybe its just me not using it properly. I decided to add Pearl Paper Effects, glitter and gems onto the corners. This fits with the Paper Sundaes challenge of "Adorn Those Corners". The Die Cut Dreams Christmas Clubs challenge is to use Die Cuts and i used plenty on this card with the Nesties and the swirls and flower from my Cricut Machine. The Craft Your Days Away Challenge is to add texture to your card. The flocking on the paper, embossing and lace counts for this. I am also going to play along with Tip Top Tuesday which is anything goes.

Spots and Stripes!

Hi, Today we woke up to the deepest snow i have seen for years! David went out to see if he would get his car out and it was up over his knees all the way along the road...he had no chance, totally snowed in! Its so beautiful to look at but the kids are out and in because the schools are all closed and there is wet clothes and boots everywhere! They are having great fun though! They are making a full size igloo later seemingly!
Anyway onto the card i made as i sat at my desk watching the snow get deeper and deeper! The sketch i followed is from the LOTV challenge blog. I love this image i have used, she looks so different every time i colour her with a different colour scheme! I have used Promarkers to colour her and the white i have used flocking, not that you can see much if it in the picture. The colour scheme came about from the Daring Cardmakers challenge, they are asking for Spots and Stripes. The DP is "Jolly Happy Xmas" from Dovecraft. I have also entered the Passion for Promarkers challenge. They have a challenge and a blog hop running for 2 weeks. The Theme is "Old and New". Well this card really fits the challenge, The flower i have on my card i have had since i started out card making a good few years back. So old it had lost the green leaves from the back of it! The new things is the DP's and the charm and chain. I have seen a few people use a few links of chain to dangle charms from lately but the first time i seen it was on Bev's blog, "All The Things I Love".  The Crafty Catz Challenge is "Christmas" and Stampin B's challenge is to make a holiday card and the Paper Cutz challenge is Anything Goes this week so i am entering these challenges too.

Heres is the links to all the challenge blogs;

White Christmas!

Hi, Another late night! Today we had our first flutter of snow. It never came to anything but it definitely did snow! My card for tonight is all about snow! The Crafty Calender Challenge this month is "Winter Snowflakes and Crafts and Me Challenge is "Dreaming of a White Xmas". The card is a step card as you can see and i have used my snowflakes embossing folder to emboss the 2 layers on the base card. The image i have used it from LOTV and i just love it! I have coloured it in with my Promarkers. I have left most of it white obviously and used my grey shades to give shadows etc but you can hardly see it on the picture. The snowflakes are from my Cricut Potpouri cartridge and i have layered them up 3 times and used 3d foam pads to add depth. The charm, ribbon and pins just finish the card off and i added a little glitter to the smallest snowflakes. I have entered the Tip Top Tuesday challenge, they are looking for "Layer upon Layer"so this card fits in with that. There are a couple of "Anything Goes" challenges which i have entered and i will add the links to them below.

Bag of Gold!

Hi, Another horrible day today here, its been raining most of the day. I think the snow is not far behind!
Anyway here is todays creation! I decided to make a gift bag which fits in with the challenge at Die Cut Dreams Challenge Blog where they are looking for anything BUT a card. The Totally Tilda Challenge is where my colour scheme came from, they are looking for Glitz and Gold creations for this challenge. I found some lovely gold mirror card that has a mat finish in my paper drawers and it was perfect for embossing. I embossed the gold layer with my floral embossing folder and cuttlebug and layered it onto brown cardstock. I used my Martha Stewart deep edge punch and gold ric-rac on the brown layer and added a gold heart button. I coloured Tilda in using Promarkers but i never had a gold Promarker to hand so i had to use Mustard instead. I think it looks ok!!
 The flowers i made from scratch. What i do is take a scallop circle and cut the scallop edge off. I have added a few pictures below to explain! Once i have the scalloped strip i gently curl each scallop to give them the petal shape. I then wrap the strip tightly around a quilling tool  and let it relax just a little until you get the size and shape you would like then use a dab of glue on the end to keep it from uncurling. To finish it off just pull some of the "petals" gently into shape until you are happy with it. I got this idea from the new x -cut quilling  flowers dies that are out and just love to make my own flowers.
(Cut the scallop edge off )

 ( Using a quilling tool wrap tightly then let it relax very slightly and glue)

(Once glue is dry pull the "petals" into shape for finished effect)

Sorry its such a long post tonight! As always here is the list of the challenge blogs i am entering.

Sugar Fix!

First of all, sorry about the poor photo. Its 2am and possibly the worst time to start taking photos! I couldnt sleep tonight so decided to have a sugar fix! Here is my entry to "The Sugar Bowl". The theme was to use the sketch given and the colour scheme of Black and White with one other. I chose pink as you can see! The sktech was a really good one to follow. I coloured my Gorgeous girl with promarkers. I love colouring these girls in and especially love colouring their hair!
I have also entered the card into the CES challenge. The theme is Lovely Lace so i have used 2 layers of the lace overlapping and think it adds a bit more depth to it. Passion for Promarkers challenge is "Stitching and Distressing. As you can see i have used Faux stitching around the black layer and also used my pricking took  around the other layers to create the "stitched" look! As for the distressing, i used black distress ink all around each layer. I didnt go too mad with it since its not really one of my best techniques and didnt want it to end up a mess. This is a area i need to improve on..lots!

Xmas Bling!

What a miserable, wet and dark day. The perfect day for crafting!! Heres my card that i made for a few challenges. The colour scheme was meant to be for the Totally Tilda challenge but i never got it finished yesterday morning so i was too late with it! Just my luck. Fortunately the Totally Gorjuss challenge this week was Non Traditional Christmas colours so my favourite icy blue scheme goes well. The Paper Cutz challenge is Christmas with Bling so i used new gems that i got that are just plain but shiny silver. I really love them, just that bit different to the gems i use all the time. The photo doesnt show them off that well. I have also played along with the Die Cut Dreams Christmas Club which is anything Goes this week.
I know this image is not a Xmas stamp but i thought it fits well and i coloured her with Promarkers. The snowflakes are from my Cricut Christmas Solutions cartridge.

Here is my card for a few challenges. The colour theme was taken from the Passion for Promarkers challenge which was pink or purple xmas cards...i chose the pink since its my fav colour!
The sketch i followed is from Papertake Weekly. It was a fun sketch to use! The papers are from a Rose Tinted Christmas.  The image is used is Sugar Nellie Cozy Maggie. This is the first time i have used this image. I got it from Funky Kits a few weeks back because they were selling lots of Sugar Nellies at ridiculously low prices! The snowflake is from  my Christmas cart for my Cricut. The charms, ribbon and gems are from my stash.

Pink Tilda!

This is my card that i made for the Just Magnolia challenge which is a sketch by Dawny. I love her sketches, just right up my street and a dream to work with! The pink paper i used is a cut off from a paper that i had in my stash and the spotted one was i got in the sale at Hobbycraft for 25p, it has nothing on to say who is from. The image was coloured by promarkers. The square is embossed with the swirls folder using my cuttlebug. The ribbons, flowers, pins and pearls are from my stash and the sentiment is a Forever Friends stamp.
The other challenges i am playing along with are the Totally Gorjuss Challenge and Our Creative corner challenge. The challenge at Our creative Corner was to use as many embellishments as you can. I used lots of pearls, 2 pins, lots of ribbon and flowers. I hope this is plenty!

Halloween's Coming!

Here is my Halloween treat bag that i made today. I thought i had a Halloween Tilda stamp in my collection but i couldnt find it so i had to just used this one and coloured her in with Promarkers and used colours to suit the theme. I made the bag from a cut from my Cricut Plantin Schoolbook Cartridge. Its a lovely shape, just that bit different. The sentiment was cut from my Wild Card Cart aswell as the bats. I used a touch of glossy accents on the bats and sprinkle with glamour dust. This was such a easy make and my daughter just loved it! She has took it already and has a few sweets in the bottom!
There are a few challenges this week with the Halloween theme so i here are the blogs that i am playing along with;

Traditional Tilda!

This is my latest attempt at playing along with some challenges! The Challenge over at Crafty Emmas Store Challenge is to create a tag, the tag shape is cut from my Cricut Plantin Schoolbook. The papers are from a Papermania pack that i bought recently and the white mat was embossed through my Cuttlebug with the snowflakes folder. The colour scheme fits with the Totally Tilda challenge which is traditional Xmas green and red. I coloured Tilda in using my Promarkers and used glossy accents and glitter to sparkle her up a bit.  Over at Papertake Weekly the challenge is 3 of a kind so i have used 3 gems on each layer to finish the tag off. My sentiment was cut from my Cricut Wild Card Cartridge. I have also played along with A Spoonful Of Sugar challenge which is Winter Wonderland.

Seeing Double!

This is just a quick post to my card for a few challenges that are about this week. The first challenge i am playing along with is the Just Magnolia Challenge. The challenge over there is 2x2 (2 of everything!) As you can see i have used 2 flowers and leafs twice, 2 sets of 2 gems, 2 DP's, and 2 charms. The charms are recycled from older cards that i have not given to anyone! It was harder than i thought using 2 of everything! The papers are from Bo Bunny and are scraps pieces that i had left over from other cards i made. I also used scrap cardstock from my scrap box that sits at my feet as i craft away. The Passion for Promarkers challenge is Recycled so i hope that all my scraps and old charms count! The colour theme of pink is fitting with two other challenges, I love Promarkers and Lets Craft and create. The image is coloured with Promarkers and the image of Tilda is fitting with the challenge over at Crafty Catz. The sentiment was cut from my Cricut Wild Card Cart and i sparkled it up a bit with glossy accents and glitter. I have also entered the card into the challenge at Craftalicious as the challenge is "Anything Goes".

Papertake Weekly's 3rd Birthday!

This card is my entry to the Papertake Weekly 3rd birthday challenge. The challenge was to pick a favourite challenge from the past 3 years! I had great fun searching through the archives, there is so much talent out there and i got lots of inspiration along the way.
The Challenge i chose is ;
Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!
I chose this because i really must make a start on my Christmas cards and also to try out my new Cricut Xmas Solutions Cartridge. I cut the snowflake from this cart and covered in glossy accents and stardust. The image of simon and lola is a fav of mine and i have coloured it with promarkers. The embossed mats are from the snowflake cuttlebug folder. The  ribbon, gems and sentiment were from my stash.

I have completed the blog hop already and left comments on the DT blogs. They are all so talented and there are amazing prises up for grabs along the way!

Sparkling Tilda!

 Hi, Its good to be back online! I was on holiday for a long weekend and when i got back my internet was down, anyway sorted now and can now get stuck into some of the great challenges that are about this week.
For this card i used a layout i used before for a challenge and loves it, so simple! The colour theme matched 2 different challenges, Stampin Bs and Fab n funky. I am not a fan of black white and red but i actually think it has turned out ok! The image of Tilda is coloured with promarkers and i have used glossy accents and glamour dust to sparkle her outfit up. The swirls were from a sizzix die i have had for ages, it actually is a flower with a swirl stem but i have cut off the flowers head and jut used the swirls. Again i have used glossy accents and glamour dust to sparkle. I added some pearls to the swirls.
As you can see from the picture below i have made the top layer so it opens up to show the hidden a tag inside. I used a brad to hold it shut by just catching the edge of the card stock under the side of the brad.

Here is the link to the challenges i have played along with this week.

Gift Boxed Tilda!

This was made initially just for fun as i have this gift box cut on one of my Cricut cartridges and wanted to try it out but half way through the Totally Tilda challenge was posted and it was to use handmade flowers on a project. The flower i made from scratch by cutting out love hearts and curling the edges, cutting the bottoms off so the flower doesn't sit too far out and then attaching them one by one to create the finished flower. As most of you probably know i do this all the time and love the finished effect. I usually make them a lot smaller so i made this one a lot bigger and more open than my usual. I finished off with covering in Glossy Accents and then a sprinkle of Martha Stewart white glitter and a little gem in the middle. The leaves were cut from the Cricut Storybook Cartridge. The image is coloured using pro-markers. I ran the box through my Cuttlebug before assembling and added a blue liner to the inside.
