Butterflies Flutter By!

I hope your having a great weekend so far. The weather is not just as good as it has been but its dry and hopefully the forecast for snow on Monday is wrong! One day we are basking in the sun, the next its to be so cold its to snow! British weather at its best!

I am here today with a card that i have made for the Belles n Whistles challenge of " Butterflies". I have used one of my favourite BnW stamps called "Patches n Braids" and coloured her with distress inks.
Butterflies are also the challenge at Samuel Taylors this month. I use the packs of smooth paper from Samuel Taylors to colour with my Promarkers. I first bought a few packs at the SECC hobbycrafts show and haven't looked back since!
I have also used my Cricut to cut the fancy frame. I have to be honest i have not used my Cricut no where as much i should do. Like most of us crafters i had  to have a cricut and it had to be the expression as at the time that was the latest version out and i also had to have lots of cartridges....and yes... i hardly use it! I have decided that i am going to use it much more and when i looked through the cartridges i have i found cuts that i didnt know i had! I bet we all have a few things that we must have that are only used as dust collectors!!

Anyway here is my card....

Hugs and Kisses!!

Good Morning, Friday again! Well yesterday i had my hospital app at the day unit and my consultant has decided to step my steroids down a tiny bit as my side effects and the secondary problems the high dose is causing are just getting worse and worse! Not sure i will see much of a difference at the moment but its a step in the right direction. I just hope my blood count can hold up as the steroids are reduced. I am totally exhausted and fed with no sleep and constant muscle cramps and everything else that it throws at me! As for the high and lows of emotions from the steroids.....even the kids know when its time to run and hide!!

I have been putting this card together for a few days..yes days!! I think this is the longest time to create one card!
I used my favourite Belles 'n Whistles stamp called "Beary Big Hugs" which i coloured using my distress inks.

Look who is back..its DAISY!!!!

Well i am so excited to be posting this card, not so much the card but the stamp! Yes, Daisy is back and after a few years of constantly being outbid on e-bay, i have her!
As some of you will remember Daisy, who was illustrated by Elisabeth Bell, started of as a Sugar Nellie stamp.
She was very popular but was discontinued and since then crafter's have been searching for her.....Well search no more, she is back and can be bought from Elphine House Australia! If she is not in the store yet she will be very very soon so keep checking so you dont miss out. She will be going like hotcakes!

Isnt she just adorable! I could colour her all day long! I am thinking you might see a lot of her on my blog from now on. I coloured her with promarkers and inked the edges with Stormy Sky distress ink.
The sketch i followed is from The Sweet Shop. I love their sketches and use them lots!
My papers are yes, you guessed my favourite faithful pad Vintage Shabby by Tim Holtz, i hate to cut lovely  papers but they too nice to keep in my drawer.  My flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, gems, ribbon, bakers twine are from my stash. I made the two pins that are sitting in the knot myself. The vines.leaves are from my Cricut Potpourri cartridge.

Below is my little Daisy up close and personal! Isnt she a cutie! If you think the same and want her here is the link the the Elphine House Australia store.
Over at My Mums Craft Shop the challenge is to be inspired by a song, well as soon as i got the stamp in the door this song has been stuck in my head..you will be glad you cant hear my awful singing but the words are;
Daisy, Daisy give me your answer do.
                                I'm half crazy all for the love of you.
 It won't be a stylish marriage,
   I can't afford a carriage.
       But you'll look sweet,
               Upon the seat, Of a bicycle made for two!!

Just a reminder that we also have got our Elphine House Australia Challenge Blog up and running and our current challenge is called "Tasty Treats"

A Pen Friend!!

Well its been another nice day here in Scotland. Not just as warm as the past few days but still sunny and dry! The kids are back to school tomorrow and i must say...thank god!!

Tonight i have made a card with one of my favourite images from Elisabeth Bell. I must admit i love all her images, they are all so sweet and a joy to colour. Over on the Belles and Whistles Challenge blog they have a sketch to follow. Its a great sketch to leave plain or dress it right up, i have dressed it up a bit but you cans till see the sketch clearly.
I have left the comfort zone a bit tonight! I have distressed all the edges of the card stock and DP's. I am not big on distressing, i do like the look but i felt mine always looked like a dog had chewed it! Anyway once i put the card together i really liked it and i am not so afraid of my distress tool now!
The image was coloured with Promarkers and little bits of Glossy Accents and glitter added here and there. The papers are "Lush" from MME and doily from Ribbon Box. The charm is made from scratch using beads, pins and chain made at different lengths. I think it works well and a nice change from my usual charms.
I printed the sentiment which says "A note for my friend.." and the rest of the supplies are from my stash.
I am entering this card into the following challenges;

Paper Sundaes - Favourite hair colour combo (i used Promarkers - Sandstone, Caramel and the blending pen also a inktense pencil in shaded areas - willow)
Totally Gorjuss - 123 - i used 1 image, 2 ribbons (cream and brown) and 3 DP's.
Lexis Creation - Friendship
Craft Your Passion - Anything Goes
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes
Tip Top Tuesday - Open challenge

Thats all for now! Hope you enjoy the rest of the week. Thanks for reading and for all the much appreciated comments.

A Recipe Card - Yum!!

Hi, We have more snow today, there was a good amount fell overnight but its turning into slush now because we have had some rain.  Just hoping that's it all. Really shouldn't be complaining about a bit of snow when we see what's going on in Japan. Its just awful.
Today i am here with a Recipe card. This is the challenge over at Elisabeth Bells World. The DT have got some amazing samples on show.

 I bought this stamp at the SECC at the beginning of the month. Just love it, so cute! She is coloured with Promarkers. The Sketch is followed from Fussy and Fancy Friday and the colours were used to fit with the Belles and Whistles challenge which is just about to finish today i think!
The fancy corners were made with my Nellie Snellon Dies. The papers are Bo Bunny i think, i have cut of the bottom corer with the name on! The ruffled ribbon was another find at the SECC. It was from Ribbon Box and i comes ruffled like in the picture, its stretches forever too! Will be buying more of that from the on-line shop. The flowers are WOC and the swirl is a Marianne Design die.

The Sentiment and the recipe itself were computer generated and printed onto white card then onto a pink mat. I added quite a few little pink gems to finish the card off.

Here is the challenges i would like to enter with this recipe card;

http://bnwchallenges.blogspot.com/ - White, Pink and Red

Thanks for looking and for the lovely comments. Have a great weekend and fingers crossed there is no more snow!!
