Simply Create Challenge DT card - Fathers Day

Its Friday at last! Looking forward to a quiet weekend and hope the weather is just like today. Its so warm, the kids have been out playing since they got home from school and i got a few jobs done.

Its now time for a new challenge over at Simply Create. This time we are looking for projects with the word "Dad" or "Father" on it somewhere.

Remember it doesnt need to be a card, you can make anything you fancy!

I decided to make a criss cross card for this challenge. I love these and they are so quick and simple to make. I used my favourite papers, Lost and Found by MME. They have a distressed look already but i inked the edges over with "Old Paper" distress ink to darken the edges a bit more. I used one of my hanglar stamps. He is coloured with Promakers. My "Dad" wording is a charm i bought recently. As the letters were was silver i used my glue pad and Smoky quartz Martha Stewart glass glitter to change them to match my card.

I used MME buttons and fibre along with my brown ribbon. The ticket is a Tim Holtz one which i inked with the same ink.

The insert of the card has been distressed with Old Paper ink too and then used the same ink to put flourished round the very edge. It was too plain without it.

I cant wait to see what you all create this week and with Fathers Day on its way this month its the perfect way to get your cards organised!

Simply Create DT Card - Special Day!

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend. The weather is not so good tonight, the rain is thudding of the ground and the wind is getting up too. I heard on the news that we are expected to have bad gale force wind over night.

I am here to tell you about the new challenge over at Simply Create!

This time the theme is .....Special Day!

This can be anything you want...wedding, special birthday, baby cards...you decide!

For my card i have used a image from Digi Doodle Shop. Its called Jr Bride and groom. Think they are so cute! I decided to stick to black and white with a little touch of pink, one of my fav combos for wedding cards, well this month anyway!!

Simply Create DT card - Mums Sayings!

Good morning, well the lovely sunny weather was gone today and replaced with rain! Its horrible and i have been freezing all day, i couldnt get my hands to warm up at all.

Onto why i am here! Today is the start of another challenge at Simply Create!!

Before i tell you the details for this challenge i must say thanks to everyone that entered the Metal challenge, the standard is so high! Remember to keep a eye out for the top 3 picks!

Right, now onto this weeks challenge. This time the theme is......."A mum saying" this could be something your mum says to you or a verse for mum.

Now a little about my card. The image is obviously a fabby Elisabeth Bell Digi image called "i love you this much". She is just gorgeous! I am loving everything Elisabeth Bell right now. The papers are from Papermania capsule pad. The flowers are WOC and i made the sentiment myself on the computer. Gems, charms ribbon etc are from my stash.

Simply Create Challenge DT Card - Metal Challenge!

Morning, Today is the start of another new challenge from Simply Create! Where has the last 2 weeks went??

The theme for this challenge is ....METAL!

The challenge is sponsored by the amazing Dude Time Doodles from Bonibleaux Designs! 

They are giving the winner of the challenge a fab prize of a $10 gift certificate!!

All the design team were lucky enough to have been given a choice of images to use for our projects. Unfortunately my printer decided it was going to play up so i have had to use a image that i had for now but i will bring you a card with a Bonibleaux design image as soon as i can!

Onto my card. As most of you know, masculine cards are just not my favourite thing to do but i wanted to keep it a masculine theme as the other DT girls were using the Dude Time Doodles images. It was a challenge  but got there in the end!

I used one of my hanglar and stanglar stamps that i got from ebay a while back and coloured it with promarkers. The paper is Lost and Found but MME. For the challenge i have used a metal chain which is attached to the fabric sentiment, eyelets and gromlets. I followed the sketch from I love to stamps April sketch challenge. I have shown it below.
